I am thinking about doing outcall services to expand my reach and was thinking about getting a portable massage table. Does anyone have any recommendations. I have seen a few but would like to hear anyones personal experiences with theirs.

Thanks a lot.

I prefer wooden tables to the metal ones. The adjustable knobs on the wooden ones seem easier than the metal "adjusting buttons". I have only, really used the oakworks brand...not sure how they rate to the others but I'm pleased with it so far.

I work for Massage King (http://www.massageking.com) and we sell all kinds of Massage Tables (http://www.massageking.com/massage-tables/popularity/1/1/catalog.html).

After working I've learned alot about tables, their features, their reputation with people who own which brands, etc.

If you need something lightweight and full sized your best bet is an aluminum table. I'm not sure how strong you are, but lugging around 30 - 50 pound tables tend to lose their portability with our petite female customers. The EarthGear Extremelite is usually a good table in this category.

If weight is not an option and you are looking for the cheapest table, the Life Gear Basic Table is usually customers choices. It is a very strong and durable table, and can be purchased for around $200.

If you are looking for the best investment you can make, alot of our customers choose the Earthgear Dreamlite. It costs less than $300 shipped, is very similar in nearly every feature to the Earthlite Avalon, and is backed with a Lifetime Warranty.

I hope this is of some help to you.

GOd Bless.

I recommend spending the cash upfront for a great table. It will benefit you in the end. I have the EarthLite Harmony and it holds a ton of weight. I jump up there with all of my clients and I've never had a doubt that it would hold us. It is oak wood and they guarantee it for lifetime. Good Luck!

I've never owned an aluminum table, so I'm not sure how easy or "annoying" the height adjustment is. But I know my wooden portable tables are pretty heavy. I would look seriously into an aluminum table.

Keep in mind that brands like EarthGear, LifeGear, HealthMark, and Master are designed for the home consumer, not the professional. They are less expensive, but also less likely to hold up to daily professional use. Brands such as Earthlite, Golden Ratio, Oakworks, Blue Ridge, Custom Craftworks, and Stronglite are designed for professionals. You'll pay more, but the product is designed to stand up to the stress of daily use. You might try eBay for some deals on portable tables....they're usually only about $40 to ship one.

I agree with flashcrimson... if you are going to invest in a portable table, you should make sure it is well built. I have an aluminun one myself, one of the lightest on the market, and it still can be a pain transporting it. The problem is that they only fold up so far, and remain a bulky item to manuver up and down stairs, through doorways and into your car/van. With the lightest ones, at least you aren't battleing added weight as well. You will want to buy a professional standard table that has been tested for strength (How big are your clients? Wouldn't it be HORRIBLE to have your table break on a heavier client?) and silence (imagine lying on a table while getting a massage and each time your therapist touches you, the table squeeks... not a good thing...). Remember as well, the more you transport your table, the more bumps and knicks it will have to endure... so quality is important! Look at it as an investment (it's also tax deductable).

I use the custom craftworks omni table.

I have never used anything other than wood tables for massages.

I have a great "top of the line" Oakworks that has weathered many, many, many massages...however, I'm considering a portable adjustable.
