so i am a massage therapist and went through the interview with steiner leisure for a cruise ship job. they did a good job on not fabricating it as it will be hard work.. so im just looking for advice from anyone who has experience with this type of work.
thanks!
Most of the people that I knew who worked on cruiseships did not like it or did not recommend it. I was told that many times you don't massage, but are pushing products on people trying to make a commission. You imagine you'll be travelling and meeting lots of people, but you never really build a client-therapist relationship that will last.
Employees of cruise ships don't get luxury bedrooms. You get a small room with a bunk. When there are festivities, dances, bands, etcetera, massage will be the last thing on the guests' minds, because there's another event going on, which is the center of attraction. Sometimes, if the waves or weather gets rough, massage will not be something people will want to do.
