My boyfriend has only ever used male massage therapist because he is afraid he would become aroused if a female therapist work on him. His choice got me to wondering how industry professionals deal with this problem. So: How do therapists deal with male client who become aroused?
I told my boyfriend that professionals probably have encountered this problem, and simply ignore it. Do you think my boyfriend's first instinct is correct...simply avoid the situation?
I am not a massage therapist, just an occasional client who is curious. Also...I am not soliciting information on "happy endings" or any other forms of prostitution.
thanks,
ST

This is not abnormal. Males respond to the sense of touch. I have worked on males that have been aroused and in my experience they are much more embarrassed. I tend to drape males more heavily in the groin area with a towel to avoid the embarrassment and ignore it. If a man does mention it I tell them it is normal and try to make them at ease as possible.

I personally CAN'T ignore an erectionm, because it's standing there waving itself at me...lol, but I usually move away from it. If I'm working on the person's legs and it happens, I may move to his shoulders. If the client looks asleep, I may stay where I am. If he looks awake or uncomfortable, I move elsewhere.
